Vision
The Office of the Inspector General (OIG) is dedicated to assisting the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) meet its mission of continued improvement for an effective and efficient transportation system for Los Angeles County.
In performing its mandated oversight function, the OIG conducts investigations and audits to promote the efficiency and effectiveness of Metro programs and operations. The OIG keeps the Metro Board and the Chief Executive Officer fully and currently informed about issues affecting Metro programs and operations, and the opportunities for improvement.
Mission The OIG was
established in 1993 in the same legislation that created Metro. The
California Public Utilities Code, establishing the creation of Metro, provides
for the appointment of an Inspector General in section 130051.28. California Public Utilities Code Section 130050-130059 The OIG is an
independent and objective organization reporting directly to the Metro Board
